ABOUT
My Bio
I am an Agentic AI Engineer and systems thinker with a background in web development, design, marketing, and digital production. I have always been drawn to understanding how things work, noticing where they break down, and finding ways to make them work better. What I understand much more clearly now is that the common thread throughout my career has been systems thinking.
I started in video production, where I learned how people respond to story, emotion, and pacing. When I built my first website to promote my freelance video work, something clicked. I realized I cared just as much about how the site worked as I did about the content it held. That curiosity pulled me fully into development.
Over the years, I built and maintained websites for small businesses, healthcare clients, and professional firms. I managed marketing for an architectural and engineering company while maintaining its three corporate websites, which required balancing business goals, technical requirements, content, design, and the needs of the people actually using those systems.
My next chapter was at BitLathe, where I grew quickly under the mentorship of Cushing Whitney. Working in a small, innovation-minded environment pushed me to think more critically, solve problems with intention, and look beyond the immediate task to understand the larger problem I was trying to solve.
When the company dissolved, I stayed committed to learning. I took on personal projects, completed more coursework, and explored iOS development to broaden my understanding of modern software. For the past several years, I have worked as a contract Web Developer for Sesame Communications and HostingCT, handling production work, website builds, accessibility improvements, quality assurance, and client requests across hundreds of websites. That work strengthened something that had been developing throughout my career: an instinct for spotting patterns, inconsistencies, friction points, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement across an entire system rather than looking at problems in isolation.
That way of thinking is ultimately what led me to Agentic AI. AI gave me a way to combine technical development, systems thinking, human behavior, workflow design, experimentation, and structured problem solving in a way no previous field had. I became especially interested in what surrounds the model itself: how workflows are structured, where deterministic logic is more reliable, when AI is actually necessary, how tools and systems interact, how failures are handled, how outputs are validated, and where humans should remain involved.
Today, I build AI systems with that larger picture in mind. I am less interested in building an agent simply because a specification says an agent is needed. I want to understand the underlying problem, how the existing workflow operates, where the real friction is, and what combination of deterministic software, AI, automation, and human involvement will solve it reliably. Then I want to help design, build, test, and refine that system.
I am looking for an Applied or Agentic AI Engineering role where that kind of thinking is part of the job: a team where I can contribute not only to implementation, but also to problem discovery, system design, technical decisions, experimentation, validation, and the continuous improvement of real-world AI systems.
At my core, I am still motivated by the same thing that has driven every stage of my career: understanding complicated problems and building thoughtful systems that make them work better.
